Fall 2025 Athletics Information
FALL PRESEASON RETURN DATES:
- FOOTBALL and GOLF - FRIDAY AUGUST 15
- ALL OTHER FALL TEAMS - MONDAY AUGUST 18
STUDENT-ATHLETES WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO PRACTICE OR TRYOUT UNTIL THE FOLLOWING COMPONENTS HAVE BEEN PROCESSED BY THE DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS OFFICE ON OR BEFORE 8/8/2025:
• CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION
• VALID ACTIVE PHYSICAL ON FILE WITH AD (WITHIN THE LAST 13 MONTHS)
• ATHLETIC FEE PAID
• CURRENT CONCUSSION BASELINE TEST
•USER FEES: The implementation of USER FEES provides the financial supports for the athletic programs offered throughout the season. Understanding the financial burden this practice may have upon individuals, we do offer (as a case may warrant) the option of paying in agreed upon installments. However, the full payment MUST be paid prior to the start of the first practice or tryout. No one will be allowed to participate until the full fee is paid. If there is a problem with any payment made please contact the athletic director.
•PHYSICALS: The MIAA, our state athletic association, requires that all student athletes have a current physical on file with the school nurse. Physicals become invalid 13 months after the date of their last physical. It is the obligation for parents/guardians to plan and schedule physical appointments to avoid any lapse in practice or playing time.
•CONCUSSION VITAL SIGNS: The Northampton Athletic Department requires ALL ATHLETES to take and receive a viable Concussion Vital Signs concussion baseline test every other year prior to participating in any practice or tryout. This is a new testing platform and all students must have this baseline testing. Testing should be completed by all first year student-athletes (incoming Freshman and Transfers as well as first time tryout students) and then again in your third year of participation.
Concussion Vital Signs testing is now accessible as an ON-LINE practice and we will continue to proceed with this baseline testing. The process to engage in this practice requires that you:
- Visit Concussion Vital Signs Website
- Select “Athlete Testing” on right side of page.
- Enter Username: HAMPathlete and Password: Hamp123
- Enter Athlete ID as FirstnameLastnameGradyear “JohnSmith2021”
- This page is VERY IMPORTANT TO DO CORRECTLY AND SELECT CORRECT TEST
- Re-enter Athlete ID in step 4, add Birth Date and Full Name
- Assessment Type – Select Baseline
- Assessments – Select “Concussion Vital Signs”
- Testing Supervision – Select the correct one depending on how you are taking it
- Testing Environment – Select the correct one depending on testing situation
ALSO VERY IMPORTANT – Concussion test will take 20-30 minutes. Athletes CAN FAIL the test. Athletes must read directions very carefully and be able to fully concentrate on the test without distraction. The entire test is memory and reaction time so if attention is pulled away from the test by a phone or someone else – the reaction times will not be valid and the test MUST BE RETAKEN.
